[edit] Hatama the Vampire
Her first week with the Coven had been the most difficult. She had adjusted to her new powers quickly. As she hunted with her brothers and sisters she grew strong and cunning.. She was no longer on her own here in this city of eternal darkness, and as each day passed she felt more at ease. She had EJ to thank for the new life she now led. Her admiration and respect for him grew everyday. Whenever he called, she immediately dropped what she was doing to go to him. When he had asked her to be his queen and help him lead the Coven, she couldn't refuse. He held a place in her heart that no one could ever touch and she would do anything for him.
[edit] The Blood Queen
Hatama ¦ Level 50 Vampire.
Silver eyes peer out from under the fiery red hair of this petite woman. Streaks of black weave in and out of her locks, framing a heart-shaped face, which is pale to the point of being almost stark white. Red pouty lips are the fixture of this face, although they are an unnatural shade of red, as if they were stained by blood. When this petite woman opens her mouth, perhaps in a smile or snarl, you notice two long, sharp, canines.
Hatama is wearing:
CiB Blood Queen Armband
Sunglasses
Beret
Trenchcoat
School Uniform
Lingerie
Kevlar Vest
Pair of Handcuffs
Boots
[edit] Hatama meets EJ Wells
Hatama had only been passing through Twilight City, she had never intended to stay for more than a week. She had no family and had been on her own since she was a teenager. People were not always what they appeared to be at first, some of them were cruel, others were just plain psycho. She had been very naive in the beginning, but soon she had learned to be hard and rely only on her self. She had managed to survive on the streets using her wit and her considerable charm. She carried a large back pack which contained a couple of changes of clothes and personal items. The large hidden pocket in the bottom contained a hundred thousand dollars. She had gotten mixed up in a very shady deal, and she was on the run from some very bad people. She was headed for the west coast, intending to settle in some quiet seaside town.
Only two days after Hatama arrived in the city the storm had come and the sky had turned black. The first few days were the worst, as panic had gripped the city. The streets were littered with the dead, who didn't always stay that way. Sometimes they stood up, still dead, yet somehow reanimated. They were mindless and filled with a hunger for flesh. She had seen them feeding on nearby corpses or chasing survivors down and feasting on their warm flesh and she had been disgusted. Vampires also stalked the streets of this town. She had always thought they were a myth, but in this city they were real, and they were fierce. They were skilled hunters and the whole city was their hunting ground. She had wandered through the streets of Twilight City, travelling the back alleys and hiding in abandoned buildings. She had met a few survivors, but she didn't trust any of them, preferring to be on her own. She would occasionally take shelter with some of them at night, but by the time they awoke in the morning she was gone again.
It was on one of these occasions that Hatama had wandered into this particular warehouse. After climbing in through a window she had found three other survivors, a middle aged man and his wife, and a fireman. At least she assumed that's what he was from the uniform he wore. After the introductions were made she had sat down in a dimly lit corner and opened a can of vegetables with a knife and proceeded to eat her meager meal. Outside she could hear the distant sound of many rifles being fired. She knew the noise was coming from Fort Howard, just a few blocks away. She had made a few trips to the fort since being stranded in this god forsaken city, but usually she avoided it. The men at the gatehouse had told her she could stay as long as she wanted, that they would keep the survivors inside safe from the monsters who roamed the city. The way some of them looked at her made her wonder who would protect her from them. She had declined their offer and instead only made quick trips to stock up on supplies. She tossed the empty can into a pile of other trash and took her pack of cigarettes out of the front pocket of the camouflage shirt she had found in the fort a few days earlier.
She had just lit the cigarette when the screaming started just outside of the warehouse. She knew it was a vampire, from the lack of gunfire or the loud groaning of zombies that accompanied the screams. When the first creak of the barricades being brought down signaled that they had been found, she knew it was too late to try and slip out of the window again. The three other survivors quickly found places to hide, but she had remained in the chair finishing the cigarette and preparing to meet her fate. The others should know by now that it was useless to hide from the nightfeeders. They were powerful and swift and they could sense you, no matter where you tried to hide. She had been very lucky so far, but it seemed her luck had run out. She ground the cigarette butt out under the heel of her boot just as the last piece of the make shift barricade was torn down.
Hatama watched as a large fierce looking vampire clothed in army issue ACU's entered the warehouse with his fangs bared. He turned to the right and quickly found the fireman hiding in a large storage cabinet. With inhuman strength he tore the heavy door to the cabinet off and tossed it aside like it weighed nothing. The fireman raised his axe and tried to defend himself, hacking at the vampire with all of his might. His efforts at resistance proved futile as the vampire ripped the axe from his hands and dragged the fireman out of the cabinet. His screams echoed inside of the warehouse as the vampire sank his fangs into the man's neck and drained him dry. He tossed the useless corpse aside and moved over to a desk surrounded by various boxes and packing crates in the center of the room, the woman was hiding underneath. Her husband has been hiding in a closet looking through a small crack in the door, as he saw the vampire approaching his wife's hiding spot he burst from the closet in a hail of gunfire.
The vampire turned and was on him in seconds, even before he had emptied the clips of the two pistols he was brandishing. The vampire grabbed the man by the front of his jacket and lifted him completely off the floor then through him violently across the warehouse. She could feel the vibrations his body made as he landed with a sickening thud on the railing of some stairs which led up to a storage loft. Hatama could tell that the man's neck, as well as various other bones in his body, had been broken as he slid off the railing and landed in a crumpled heap at the foot of the stairs. Turning back towards the desk the vampire tossed the boxes and packing crates out of the way and then picked the desk up, revealing the woman underneath.
She cowered on the floor with her hands covering her head. When she looked up and saw the vampire standing over her with blood dripping from his fangs and death is in his eyes she let out a blood curdling scream. She attempted to crawl across the floor trying to get away but there was no use. He grabbed her by her ankle and dragged her back over to him. Then he grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her back, exposing her vulnerable throat to his fangs. In a few moments time the woman had been drained dry and tossed across the room to join the body of her husband.
Hatama had remained seated quietly in the chair in the shadowy corner, but she knew that she had not been unnoticed. The vampire wiped the blood from his chin with the back of his hand and then turned his head slowly and looked in her direction. He stalked across the warehouse towards her kicking boxes out of his way. As he approached her she slowly rose from the chair and stood looking up at him. "Why did you not try to hide from me? Pathetic meatbags always try to hide." he barked the question at her in a gruff voice. "Would it really have mattered? You would have found me just the same as you found them." she replied quietly. He glared down at her with hate filled eyes and snarled. "Are you frightened of me?" "Yes, I'm frightened" she answered truthfully. There was no use lying to him, she was sure he could smell her fear. He could certainly she her trembling and hear her ragged breath. She wasn't ready to die, but she still didn't run or try to fight him. They stared at each other for several long minutes, and she wondered why he hadn't just finished her off as quickly as the others. Perhaps he just wanted to prolong her suffering, let her terror build before he drained every drop of blood from her.
"What is your name?" he asked suddenly. The question took her by surprise and it took her a few moments to find her voice again. "My name is Hatama" she answered shakily. "Well, Hatama. Do you want to die?" he asked almost casually. She was confused by his questions and unsure how to respond. Maybe he wanted to hear her beg for her life, which she wasn't about to do. "I don't think that any human ever truly wants to die." she stated. She saw some of the bloodlust leave his eyes as he stared down at her. "If I gave you a choice between dying or becoming one of my kind, which would you choose?" She blinked up at him, unsure if she had heard him correctly. "What did you say?" she asked him in a confused tone. He repeated the words again.
Hatama closed her eyes and thought about this for a couple of seconds. This was not a situation she had ever thought to find herself in. She wondered what had prompted him to offer her a choice between death and being a vampire. She wondered what it would feel like to be so powerful. She also wondered if life on her own would be harder as a vampire, unable to take refuge with other survivors and always being hunted. She suddenly realized that was the way it was for her right now anyway. When she opened her eyes again he was still there, staring down at her, waiting for her reply. "I'm not ready to die." she told him. His voice took on a seductive tone when he replied, "What I'm offering you is better than death. It's certainly better than being a pitiful human. Now hold very still and I'll make sure that this doesn't hurt...much."
The last word was spoken as a whisper as he leaned his head down. She could feel his hot breath on her neck and she shivered as he took her into his arms and buried his fangs deep into her neck. The pain was sharp but brief. He drank from her slowly and she relaxed in his arms. When it was over he gently lowered her to the floor and knelt beside her. "Now you need to rest for a little while, then you'll need to feed." he told her. She felt dizzy and her thoughts seemed fuzzy, but already she could feel the power coursing her through her veins. She laid a hand on his arm as he started to rise and whispered, "You never told me your name."
He stared at her for a few moments and she thought he was going to walk away without answering her. Instead he reached over and brushed the hair back from her face and replied, "My name is EJ Wells. Come with me and join my Coven. We'll teach you what it truly means to be a vampire." She nodded her consent to him and then began to drift off. Hatama was unaware how drastically her life was about to change as he lifted her body from the floor and carried her away.
